Privacy Policy

Effective as of June 5, 2026.

This Privacy Policy describes how Mobius Solutions, Inc. dba Taya ("Taya," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information that we collect through our Taya application and devices (such as the Taya necklace), as well as our other websites and applications that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Services").

Taya is a personal memory assistant. You record moments of your day — ideas, reminders, reflections — using your iPhone's microphone or a paired recording wearable. Taya turns those recordings into searchable memories: transcripts, AI-generated summaries, automatically extracted tasks, connections between the people in your life, and a chat assistant that can answer questions about anything you've captured.

We may provide additional or supplemental privacy notices at the time we collect personal information. If you have any questions or concerns about how we process your personal information, please contact us.

Our privacy principles

Privacy laws make it hard to keep privacy policies concise, and while you should read this policy in its entirety, we've adopted the following principles to help you understand our approach:

  • Your recordings are yours. We work with trusted vendors in limited circumstances to operate the Services (for example, to transcribe and summarize your recordings), but we do not let third parties use your personal information for their own commercial or marketing purposes.

  • Our revenue comes from selling our Service to users, not from selling your personal information.

  • We encrypt the personal information collected through our application, in transit and at rest.

  • You are in control. You can request to access, export, or delete your personal information, including your recordings, at any time.

Personal information we collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us and the Services. In general, we collect personal information from the following sources:

Information you provide to us

  • Account data. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. You sign in using Sign in with Apple or a one-time code sent to your email. We do not store a traditional password you create.

  • Contact data. Your name, email address, and any other contact details you choose to provide.

  • Recordings and user-generated content. This is the heart of the Service. When you record a moment — using your iPhone's microphone or a paired Taya wearable — we collect the audio recording and any other content you provide, generate, or make available to us. Audio recordings may, in certain jurisdictions, be considered biometric data or biometric identifiers.

  • Derived content. From your recordings we generate transcripts, AI summaries, extracted tasks, and connections among the people referenced in your moments. We store this derived content as part of your memories.

  • Communications data. Information in your communications with us, including support requests and any feedback you provide.

  • Transaction data. If you purchase a subscription or device, information about your transactions, such as order history and subscription tier. Payment card data is collected and processed by our payment processor, not stored by us.

If we collect personal information not specifically listed above, we will use it consistent with this Privacy Policy or as otherwise explained at the time of collection.

Information automatically collected

As you use the Service, we and our service providers automatically collect:

  • Device data. Technical information about your device, such as operating system type and version, device model, app version, unique device identifiers, language settings, and general location information (such as city or geographic area).

  • Usage data. Information about how you interact with the Service, including features used, access times, session duration, diagnostics, and crash logs.

  • Bluetooth and pairing data. When you pair a recording wearable, we process information needed to discover, connect to, and communicate with that device over Bluetooth.

Information from third-party sources

  • Authentication services. When you sign in with Apple, Apple provides us with limited information (such as a name and an email or relay address) according to your settings. Apple's privacy policy applies to its handling of your information.

How we use your personal information

  • Service delivery. We use your personal information to create and manage your account, process and store your recordings, generate transcripts and summaries, extract tasks, connect people across your moments, power the chat assistant, and communicate with you about the Service.

  • Audio processing. Your audio recordings are transcribed and summarized using secure cloud services (see How we share your personal information). This processing is what turns a recording into a searchable, summarized memory and enables the chat assistant to answer questions about it.

  • Business operations. We use your personal information to administer and maintain the Service and our IT systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, testing, and support.

  • Research and development. We use personal information to analyze and improve the Service. Where we do this, we work to use aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data wherever feasible. We do not use the content of your recordings, transcripts, or summaries to train our own or third parties' artificial intelligence models without your consent.

  • Direct marketing. As permitted by law, we may send you marketing communications about our products and services. You can opt out at any time (see Your choices and rights).

  • Compliance and protection. We use personal information to comply with applicable laws and legal process, to enforce our terms, and to protect our, your, and others' rights, privacy, safety, and property, including to prevent, investigate, and deter fraud and other harmful activity.

How we share your personal information

We share personal information with the following categories of recipients, and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy or at the time of collection. We require our service providers to process personal information only on our behalf and for the purposes we specify.

  • Audio transcription and AI providers. To deliver the Service, your recordings and derived content are processed by trusted third-party speech-to-text and artificial intelligence providers that transcribe your recordings, generate summaries, and power the chat assistant. These providers process your content to perform their services for us and are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes.

  • Cloud storage and infrastructure. Hosting and infrastructure providers that store and sync your account data, recordings, and derived content, and that provide authentication and backend services.

  • Payment processors. Third-party payment processors collect and process payment card and transaction data when you pay for the Service.

  • Service providers. Other vendors that help us operate the Service or our business, such as hosting, analytics, customer support, and email delivery.

  • Professional advisors. Lawyers, auditors, bankers, and insurers, where necessary for the professional services they provide to us.

  • Authorities and others. Law enforcement, government authorities, and private parties where we believe in good faith it is necessary or appropriate for the compliance and protection purposes described above.

  • Business transferees. Parties to a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy.

  • With your consent or at your direction. We may share personal information for other purposes disclosed to you at the time of collection or with your consent.

Recording responsibly

Taya is built to capture you. The Service is designed to isolate and focus on your own voice and your personal moments — it is not intended to record other people or the conversations happening around you, and you should use it only for your personal use.

Because audio can still pick up nearby voices, and recording laws vary by location, you are responsible for using Taya lawfully and respectfully. Please record only where you are permitted to do so, and obtain consent from the people around you when required. A recording indicator is shown while Taya is capturing audio, so recording is never hidden.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information. These rights are not absolute and may apply only in certain circumstances.

  • Access or update your information. You can review and update certain account information from the settings page in the Taya app.

  • Delete your account and data. You can delete your account and its associated personal information — including your recordings, transcripts, and summaries — from the settings page in the Taya app, or by contacting us. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize the associated personal information as described in Retention.

  • Export your information. You can request a copy of the personal information associated with your account by contacting us.

  • Correct your information. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

  • Opt out of marketing. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email, or by contacting us. You may continue to receive non-marketing, service-related messages.

  • Microphone and Bluetooth access. You can manage the app's access to your microphone, Bluetooth, and location in your device settings. Disabling these may limit core functionality.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact us; depending on where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Other sites and services

The Services may contain links to websites and online services operated by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for those services. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites and services you use.

Security

We use technical, organizational, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we process, including encryption of your information in transit and at rest. However, no security measures are perfect, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including to provide the Service to you, to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, and to establish or defend legal claims. When we no longer need your personal information, we will delete or anonymize it, or, if that is not immediately possible (for example, because it is stored in backups), we will securely isolate it from further processing until deletion is possible.

International data transfers

We are headquartered in the United States, and we and our service providers may process personal information in the United States and other countries. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those where you live. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, for transfers of personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

Children

The Services are not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected personal information from a child, please contact us, and we will comply with applicable legal requirements to delete the information.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date above and posting the revised policy on the Service or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any modified Privacy Policy indicates your acknowledgment that the modified Privacy Policy applies.
